Butchers to Venture Down Under to Carve out Victory

Two butchers from Yorkshire are to set off and travel down under to compete against other butchers from Australia and New Zealand in an international competition.

David Lishman and Brindon Addy from West Yorkshire are two of the five members of the British team. David will also captain the team.

The five day event will start on the 5th March and will see the team take part in tours and workshops to get more knowledge and experience with how the business works Down Under.

David Lishman said “Our ties with the Kiwis and Aussies go back a long way and so when Meat Retail New Zealand approached us to take part in the Central Otago Study Tour, we had no hesitation in accepting as it presents a great opportunity for us to learn new skills, garner inspiration and establish links with a nation prized for its farming heritage.”

“Our hosts have arranged a fascinating tour, introducing us to some of the country’s finest butchers, farmers and chefs along the way.”

The UK team will in turn host the event next year.
